They existed. They lived…
Art Project "Extinct Animals"
They
existed. They lived…
We could
even see one of them in childhood at the zoo. Some of them disappeared forever long
before our birth.
Vitaliy
Lishko’s project is a reminder to the inhabitants of the planet that, it turns
out, not everything in life "goes back to normal". There is something
that can be lost forever. Life is the most fragile thing on the Earth. To
preserve it, it is worth to unify our efforts.
Those that have gone extinct…
A little
time will pass, and they will revive in Vitaliy’s book and music album,
becoming colorful illustrations. And in the meantime...
Silhouettes,
showing through the black background, catch the eye: “Do you recognize me? Of
course, you don’t. We have never had time to meet... ”
The movements
of the brush fascinate, make you look into the messy touches through which some
kind of bright and already distant image appears somehow imperceptibly and as if by itself. Each
has its own musical composition; each has its own story.
Here is a
Black Rhinoceros. Once it was just as fast runner as a horse. 56 kilometers per
hour is not bad for such a lump! And the birds on a wide rhinoceros back that
could be found in every children’s book are not fictional cartoonish characters.
They REALLY loved to ride on a black rhinoceros when it still walked on the
ground.
Another stroke
of brush and this time the Dodo, a funny and ridiculous bird appears. It could not
fly; it was trusting and was not shy. However, this did not interfere with her
existence in the places where it lived. It had no serious enemies until the
very day when the shadow of the first human who came from the other side of the
ocean fell on the Mauritius Island.
Here is
another silhouette. The representative and powerful Barbary lion was once the largest
member of the cat family. But it turned out that it was not powerful enough to
hold out against firearm.
Brush
movement ... (Movement is life ... even on paper ...)
Have you
ever seen a Red-bellied Gracile Mouse Opossum?
The half mouse and half opossum
of a funny orange color exists only in pictures now.
